i wanted something that would connect with the rotterdam solar map.
so i decided that the 'me-vs-the-world' would be a version of me portrayed as an astronaut.

but it did put things in perspective, and even though i study in rotterdam for 4 years now - i've never seen the places we went to that day.
i never actually looked.

Rotterdam is very universal, showing us how it is becoming strong and is growing.
Very diverse with culture.

Screw up some mental barriers and boundaries, go the distance. In the world but also in space, the final frontier.
I think it also reflects a metaphor, of how there is so much more to the world than how media and people tell you it is.
Put on that oxygen helmet - fuel yourself - be a pioneer and go discover it yourself.

'Picked the astronaut. Seemed like a good portrait of me in this suit checking out earth. I do not actually compare myself to people on earth (the robot society), so this is why I chose to not be a part of the society - but instead float above her.

Portrait: me vs Europe

the first thing i think about when thinking about europe, is that the EU is such a mess.

the second thing i think about are the country's, the landscapes, the architecture, the culture.

so I thought about combining the ideas, into me picking up all the stuff that I liked about Europe. But in the process my whole idea got screwed up, I couldn't really get the idea out of my head into the picture. The whole EU thing started to collapse so I decided to just bring it back to 'I like this so it's mine, and what I don't like is toxic' / THE FLOOR IS LAVA principe
